Week 2 of the 2006 season was another good one for us here at
B & B  Racing.  We started the day off with a loose car.  I think it was  mostly
because we cooked the tires last week.    We did make several  changes to the
car but they did not seem to make a difference, so  hat is how I came to my
conclusion.  We started the heat race in fourth and quickly made our way
backwards to the 5th spot which is  where we finished, however that was an
unqualified position.  So we  knew what we had in store for us....a starting spot
near the back.   The car was horrible in the heat race and we decided to make
an  adjustment to the track bar which really helped we would figure out  in the
feature.  We started the feature in the 14th spot and made a  few spots right off.
We would make contact with Rob Williams in the  71 and send him around.  I
was not sure what happened, Bryon said he  was on his way around and he
couldn't stop.  Rob would verify that he  did indeed have a right rear flat which is
what got him sideways.   The red flag would come out next as Bryan Shumway
ended up in the  turn one wall.  It was a hard shot and I hope he is ok, I'm not
sure  how that started either.  We would resume racing and a few cars
dropped out and we slowly gained positions.  Next thing we knew we  were up
to third.  We were making a move for second when we came up  on the 74 car
to lap him for the tenth time of the race and we had to  get back single file.  This
car is a menace and is going to get  someone hurt if he does not get up to
speed.  The yellow would fly  once again, we made another move for second
but to no avail.  Toby  Wells and Phil Meany were battling hard and almost
wrecked when Bryon  went to go low guess who was in the way again....you
guessed it the  74.  We ran in the third spot for a while Todd Patnode and Russ
Hersey finally caught up with us.  I thought we could hang on to
third until Todd got into us sending Bryon sideways and he made an
awesome save.  Russ would get by both Todd and Bryon to go on to the
win.  Todd then got by and we settled in for fifth.  Which we were
thrilled with.  Todd came right over after the race and apologized to
Bryon which was cool those are the types of people I want to race with.

Friday, Sept 15th
This week things were a bit different for us at the dog.  First we
raced on Friday, secondly we only ran 5 laps of Practice due to the
fact we all have to work for a living.  lol  We figured we would
scuff our tires in just to get them ready for the nights Double
Features.  Well I'll start by saying that was the worst set of tires
we had all season.  That being said we started the first feature in
the 4th spot. We quickly made our way to second and had to chase
Rob  Williams down who was a straight away ahead.  That wouldn't
matter  though because the red would fly after the 5 spun Jeff
Zuidema and he  took a hard head on shot from Aric Blanchette
luckily both were ok.  The track parked the 5 for the incident.  The
42 crew somehow managed  to get the mangled 42 back on the
track without losing any laps and  had a good finish.  Back to racing
we restarted 2nd and Barry Gray  got by us and we moved into 3rd
when Toby Wells had all four tires in the infield and hit Bryon in the
LR so hard it lifted the car off the ground and sent us spinning.  I
was pissed, even more that he didn't get put to the back for flat out
dumping us.   We baked the tires bad and that was pretty much it we
managed to get back up to 7th and Toby admitted to doing it on
purpose...Thanks.

The Second feature we started 5th and I figured we had a good line.
Wrong again.  We were behind the 12 and he slid up the track and
Bryon turned him around and to the back we went.  We made a
couple of pit stops to try to get the car tighter but it just wasn't
happening.  We made our way forward passing a bunch of cars and
finishing 8th.  Taking a big hit in points I figure we are 5th, with
Russ Hersey hot on our heels.  Maybe this week will bode better for
us, and maybe I'll have a little less to bitch about for a change.
Hey everybody....

The season is fast approaching and we are ready to roll.  A few
minor
details to finish and we are done.  The car will be lettered in the
next couple of weeks, the shocks are being worked on next week by
our
friends at AMF Motorsports and we have to hardwire our
transponder.
I won't have any photo updates until I get my camera back from the
repair shop, It fell out of my backpack at the airport, that sucked.
I enjoyed a week away in California it was great, now the warm
weather can't get here fast enough.  We will make practice day for
the first time in 5 years, that is an accomplishment for usl, we will
need it to try out the chassis modifications we made over the
winter.  The anticipation is high over here at B & B Racing we have
not had a good year since the 2003 season and we are Determined
to
turn that bad luck around in 2006.  See Ya Soon.

A few pictures from my trip out west.....
03.12.06
Hey everyone....long time no update.  Things have been crazy around
here lately.  We got fourth in our outing previous to this week and
nearly had third when we were in Russ' terms "snowballed" but thats
ok we'll take it.  This week we worked hard getting the car to go
good, but it is still not there.  I think it was described as evil
from Bryon.  We put all of our changes back to the way they were and
made some more which helped the car but it is still not there yet.
In the heat race the car was horrible Bryon slid up into George Frost
and hit him pretty hard, we finished 6th I think.  We started the
feature in the 10th spot and made our positions just by staying out
of trouble.  At the end of the feature the car started wheel hopping
real bad, we are in process of trying to figure out what it is now.
We crossed the line in the 6th position once again decimated by the
crate engined cars and the ridiculous concessions they are being
given......

We are looking forward to meeting everyone at the pit party this
week..We will have some nice autograph cards for all of our
fans....see ya at the track!

Another interesting week for B & B Racing....With last years set up
in the car our hopes were high to have a great night at the track.
We did have a good night but It could have been much better.  The
team had to pick up the slack because Our resident tool girl Jill is
off in a faraway land learning about the culture of the Japanese.  I
might add that they did a fine job too.  We ran the first warm up and
the comfort that Bryon had been accustomed too showed itself for the  first time
this year.  Even though the car felt a little free he
liked the feel of it, and turned a few pretty quick laps to boot.  We
were checking our shock travel and when we looked under the hood it  was a
mess.  The power steering pump seal blew out for the second  straight week.
What a mess it made.  With no chance in making the  2nd warm up we went to
work to change it.  I was on clean up detail  when it started to rain.  Great I
thought but then I was just hoping  for it to keep going for a while longer so we
could get into the 2nd  round of practice that we needed.  So with the car cover
on Grant and  I continued to work under the car while Bryon got the spare pump
ready to go in.  We actually made it with plenty of time to spare and  we went
out for the second round and the car was still a bit free but  better.  I put a round
in the sway bar and moved the track bar which  ended up being too much as
the track tightened up quite a bit when  feature time came.  I was psyched when
I saw the lineup for the  feature we would start in the 5th spot.  We ran in 5th for
a while  having some good hard clean racing with Russ Hersey and I couldn't
believe we held him off.  We then made our way past Rob Williams and  the
caution would come out when he was dumped in front of the field  by the 5ma I
believe (if I'm wrong I apologize...) Todd Patnode would  blow by us on the
outside as his car was on a rail, and we had  another hard battle with Barry
Gray when he would finally get the  best of us.  This is when the frustration
would start.  We were  running 6th behind the 75 of Brad Coll he would block
and chop us six  ways to Sunday even going at far as almost shoving us off the
track  in turn three which broke the fender in half.  We finally got past  him when
the caution would fly however we did not fall into the 2/3  rule as Russ did?  See
Herseryracing.com for a better explanation on
this new phenomenon...Bryon got a run off turn 4 and was halfway up
his door when he yanked the car left and slammed into us.  Wow made
for some exciting in car footage as I had the camera going for the
feature this week.  I even got him telling us we were number one,
what a complement he must have forgot that when he told Bryon he was
a better driver than him...kinda contradicts himself don't ya think?
So we wound up finishing in the sixth spot I was hoping for a little
better but I'll take it.  Congratulations to Toby Wells and the
Motionsick Motorsports team we pit next to them and they are a great
group to be around.  The weeks work has started on the car.   The
rear end was feeling kinda tight so it is out of the car and is now
fixed so it just has to go back in tomorrow and finish up our routine
maintenance.  Then we will be off for another fun filled Saturday at
the Dog!

Cya There

052006 Hey it didn't rain on Saturday!  I thought for sure we would have
another rainout, as did many of the other tracks in the area.  First
of all I want to welcome our newest sponsor Domingue Cleaning Service  in
Wilmington Vt.  If you need anything cleaned give her a call and  she will hook
you up 802 464 3250.  It has been a while since our  last trip down to the dog
and since then we made a couple of major  chassis changes.  I was very
anxious to get down to the track and see  what the outcome would be.
Whenever you make changes like we did you  always hope that things will go
smoothly.  Bryon took it out in the first practice and within a couple laps he was
telling me the car was real free in and out but it felt good.  We came right in and
pulled a  couple spring rubbers and headed right back out and the car was
really good.  I can't remember the last time he got out of the car  smiling about
the way it handled in practice.  We made another minor  adjustment to the sway
bar to get the twitch out of the car and it  worked well in the heat.  We started 4th
and finished third just  riding behind the leaders.  That is when things started to
go south.   Bryon said it felt like the rear end was starting to go to hell.  I  thought
great we finally get the car good and wham.  We started the  feature in 12th and
passed a couple cars and the car was too free so  we pitted and didn't have
time to do anything so we just lost spots  on that deal.  There was another
caution within a few laps so this  time we took some stagger out of the rear and
that made a big  difference.  We were running behind Brad Coll and Jeff
Zuidema when  all hell broke loose and we escaped that wreck unscathed.
There was  a lot of torn up equipment on that deal and I was thankful B missed
it.  It made for an awesome in car video though.  As the race went on  the car
became looser and looser as the rear end continued to get
worse.  We made it to 7th and got passed by Todd Patnode and we
almost got by George Frost at the end but one spot is not worth
crashing over.  So we wound up 8th for the night.  Not too bad
considering all the stuff going on with the car.  We have been busy
all week changing the center in the rear end back to old
faithful...no gnatt no spool either!  We also had the power steering
pump leaking all over the place and it made a nice mess so the
pressure washer is coming out tomorrow night.  Well another busy week
this week as the Modifieds will be at the Dog, so I have double duty
spotting for Sean Bodreau on the TVMRS Tour.
Plugging Along...

Well we took a week off from working on the car
last week so we didn't make as any progress last
week.  We were back at it yesterday and
continued to move forward, although I don't think
we will have the car complete by the first of the
year.  I am happy with the progress though.  I
keep finding small projects that I want to get done
and it just adds to the time of completion.
Hopefully our body panels will go to Lou sometime
in the next week or two.  I will  continue to get
pictures and add to the site.  I hope everyone likes
the new site racersbored.com is doing a great job
with it.
052006

Saturday Night for the team was just another mediocre night at the
race track.  The car went pretty good in the warm ups but not quite
to the drivers liking.  We hustled around and made a spring change
before the second round of practice.  We made it out and the car
was still plowing so we came back in and pulled a couple of spring
rubbers and headed back out to the track.  B liked the car but felt
the spring change helped so we added a rubber to that corner to
help it some more.  We started the heat race in 5th and I figured our
line would move pretty good, however I was wrong so we slid back a
bit.  Bryan Shumway made a hole by running over our left front and
breaking the fender....I was not happy with him to do that in a heat
race was just stupid.  I think we finished 3rd in the heat.  We started
the feature in the 10th spot and some communication problems
between me and Bryon caused us to get blocked in behind the 66
and 71 cars for about 20 laps.  Bryon made a move to the
inside and Rob bounced off the wall and into us ripping the steering
wheel out of Bryons hand and adding to the pinball effect.  Then he
made a move high to go by the 66 he blocked us we made a move
low and were run into the grass.  Bryon ended up spinning the 66
going into turn three in another effort to go low.  No Caution and
they were not happy with us.  They had the right to be upset, all we
ask is to pick one groove.  We'll take the other.  So all in all an ok
night taking home 7th place.  We have some work ahead of us this
week.  Bent front end, bent bumper, 2 broken fenders, a smashed in
nose piece, a wrecked side rail and a driver who is still not happy
with the cars handling....
Cya at the Track if the rain holds off....

10.05 Baker takes 9th in Outlaw Late Model 100
Lapper at CFS

We ventured up to Canaan Fair Speedway last weekend
meeting our goal of racing one last time in 2005.  The
team has 2 expectations for the race.  1 Have Fun. 2
Break in the new engine.  Mission accomplished.
Although a lot of the day we were definetly a little rusty
we managed to have a good time.  The main problem in
my opinion was we cheaped out by not buying new
rubber for the race and we could never really get a feel
for what the car was doing.  We started the day out 7th in
our heat race and quickly moved up to the fourth spot.
The caution would fly for a spin in turn 1 when heading
into turn 3 the 20 of Brian Henry was not aware of it and
turned us around.  Pass rules are a little different than
what we are accustom to therefore we did not get our
spot back.  We started from the back and passed a car or
2 when the 27 of Bubba Pelton hit the lead car in the
right front wheel causing the pack to jam up and we got
turned again.  We came to the pits to put the ol duct tape
to use and headed back on the track with no chance of
catching the pack we finished last.  Time to repair the
car,  we had a bunch of help from other people to repair
the car.  Thanks Grant, Nathan, and some other guy I had
no idea who he was.  Rain was heading our way fast so
the hurry up was on.  It was actually sleeting when we
went on the track but it stopped long enough to get the
race going.  It drizzled through out the race and that
could have contributed to some of the wrecks.  We
started in the 20th spot and pretty much made our spots
by people crashing out.  The handling was not too good.
We pitted 2 times to adjust the stagger and then we went
a lap down when the right rear tire had a hole in it.
Nothing too major happened in the feature to us we
missed the big one and pitted as the race was being
called on lap 68 for rain.  Not a bad way to finish the
season could have been better could have been worse.
The car starts getting revamped for 2006 this week.
Looking like Monadnock will be once again our home
track in 2006.  Congratulations to Donnie, Walt and Matt
on their top 3 finishes.
